Towards a More Resilient Place

As place-based efforts continue to expand, the relationship between philanthropy and community must evolve and change. This convening in Aspen explored the role of funders and in supporting community resilience and cohesion as a part of community power building.

The South is home to the fastest growing foreign-born population in the country, with newcomers invigorating communities and spurring growth. This tour explored ways to support the changing population and collaborative organizing in the South.

Learning Tour in Puerto Rico: Advancing Equity and Sustainability

Neighborhood Funders Group and the Environmental Grantmakers Association sponsored a funder learning tour in the San Juan area of Puerto Rico, where community based organizations across the island are forging new community development tools and civic engagement strategies to promote equitable development, resilience, transparency and accountability.

Learning Tour in Boston and New York City: Is a More Just City Possible? 

With historic public sector leadership transitions occurring in both cities, the learning tour  engaged elected officials, policymakers, activists and funders in both cities in a conversation about strategies for advancing a more equitable urban agenda.
