Overcoming Non-Skills Barriers to Employment Webinar

How Regions are Helping Formerly Incarcerated Workers Access Good Jobs

Wednesday, March 26, 2014
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM EST / 12:00 – 1:00 PM PST

Living Cities invites you to join a webinar exploring approaches to reduce barriers to employment faced by formerly incarcerated individuals.
It is increasingly difficult for low-income individuals to find quality jobs. For individuals with a criminal record –more than 1 in 4 U.S. adults - these difficulties are magnified, creating often insurmountable barriers to quality careers. The challenge of integrating formerly incarcerated individuals back into the workforce was raised at a recent Living Cities’ The Integration Initiative (TII) Learning Community.
Several partnerships across the country are working to address this challenge.  Join our webinar to hear more about how civic leaders from Baltimore, San Francisco, and Atlanta are promoting approaches that expand access to economic opportunity for people facing significant non-skills barrier to employment.
Presenters will include:

Doug Anmar, Georgia Justice Project
Jason Perkins-Collins, Jobs Opportunity Task Force
Joshua Arce, Brightline Defense
Sam Schaeffer, Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO)
We will be tweeting about the event with the hashtag #access2jobs and invite everyone to share their thoughts and questions with us @Living_Cities.
