NFG Board Nominations


The Neighborhood Funders Group (NFG), working to connect people, place and power, is soliciting the names of members who would like to be considered for nomination to the Board of Directors. The Membership and Programs Committee is seeking individuals who reflect the diversity of the NFG membership and who are committed to building a strong organization that can effectively serve the interests of its members. Up to seven (7) members will be elected to the NFG Board of Directors at NFG’s annual convening in Jackson, MS on November 20-22, 2013.

We are looking for leaders within philanthropy who share our mission to build the capacity of philanthropy to advance social justice and community change. Below you will find a link to an overview of our Strategic Road Map which includes highlights of NFG’s priorities: Organizing the Field, Leadership Development, Thought Leadership, and Organizational Capacity.

NFG has a board of up to 15 individuals elected by the membership to serve a three-year term and who would then be eligible to serve for a maximum of two consecutive terms. The NFG board is a working one and members are expected to attend three board meetings each year, participate on a board committee, and pay their own board meeting-related expenses. Members are also expected to participate in fund raising and member recruitment.

NFG members may nominate themselves or another NFG member with the concurrence of that member. We encourage nominations of people of color as well as emerging grant makers. Nominations may be completed by filling out this form and submitting it via email to Dania Rajendra at or via mail to NFG, 1201 Connecticut Ave. N.W., Third Floor, Washington, DC 20036. The deadline for nomination is Tuesday, November 5, 2013.
