Grantmaker Learning Tour in Buffalo - Register by June 15th

Join the New York State Grantmakers for Community Engagement, Open Society Foundations and the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo for a two-day learning tour in Buffalo, New York.  The learning tour will bring together community-based leaders, policymakers, and funders to discuss effective and replicable community engagement strategies for advancing an equitable regional agenda that engages the leadership of all community residents.

Welcome Reception and Dinner with Funders and Buffalo Community Based Partners

Thursday, June 26th 8am – 5pm

Buffalo Landscape Panel with the following speakers:

  • Mary Anne Schmitt-Carey, Say YES to Education  

Buffalo Central Terminal:  Learn about this cultural landmark including resident engagement strategies. Speakers include:

  • Chris Byrd, neighborhood resident

PUSH Green Development Walk Through & Discussion –Visit the PUSH Green Development Zone to learn about diverse and dynamic community building, community development and economic revitalization through land reuse and workforce development
Massachusetts Avenue Project Visit the Massachusetts Avenue Project for a tour of their Urban Farm and to discuss food systems & youth training

Building Community Engagement Infrastructure Local to Statewide, speakers include:
